The same close, adapted to how your sector actually runs.

A restaurant group, a SaaS company and an ecommerce seller need three different sets of eyes on the same monthly close.

What changes by sector

Most of a Canadian close looks the same across industries: transactions coded, accounts reconciled, a senior principal signs off before you see it. What changes is where we look harder.

A restaurant group with locations in three provinces needs each location's GST or HST tracked separately before it rolls into one consolidated report. A SaaS company selling in US dollars needs deferred revenue and multi-currency handled cleanly. An ecommerce seller needs a marketplace payout split back into sales, fees and refunds before it ever reaches the ledger.

The industry pages below go into that detail for the sectors we cover most in Canada.

Sectors we cover

  • Restaurants and franchise groups

Province-by-province GST/HST tracking, rolled into one consolidated report for ownership.

  • Ecommerce

Shopify and Amazon payouts split into sales, fees and refunds, matched to the correct province's sales tax rate.

  • SaaS and startups

Deferred revenue schedules and multi-currency bookkeeping for companies billing across the border.

  • Professional services

Project and client-level margin visible alongside the standard monthly close.

Questions

Sector questions

My business sells in more than one province. Is that a problem?

No, it is common. We track GST and HST by the province of each sale and consolidate at the entity level each month.

None of the listed sectors match my business exactly.

Most books are more similar underneath than they look. Book a call and we will tell you directly if your situation needs something specialized.

Do multi-entity businesses cost more?

Usually, yes, since each entity needs its own reconciliation before the roll-up. The Scale plan is built for that.

Can a brand-new Canadian company start here before it has any history?

Yes. Onboarding covers agreeing a chart of accounts under ASPE or IFRS and connecting software from a clean start.

Do you specialize in one industry, or work across all of them?

We work across the sectors listed on this page rather than specializing in a single one, and each industry page reflects the software stack and common pain points specific to it. If your business spans more than one sector, we scope for the mix, not a single label.

What if my business does not fit neatly into any listed sector?

That is common. Tell us the software you already use and where the numbers tend to break down, and we scope from that rather than forcing a fit into one of the listed industries. Most of what we deliver, reconciliation, reporting and tax support, applies regardless of sector.
