The reviewer's call
Software is up on last month because two seats were added mid-month, so next month's run-rate is higher still. Confirm both seats are needed before the annual renewal.

How your close runs
Reconciled all month, so month end is a review rather than a rebuild
Finbryn handles monthly bookkeeping for businesses trading in the EU: transactions coded, accounts reconciled, and reports sent every month in EUR. VAT registrations, OSS and IOSS returns, and statutory accounts filings stay with your own accountant or a qualified local partner such as a French expert-comptable or German Steuerberater. We prepare the numbers; a local, qualified professional signs what needs signing.
- What changed
- Revenue rose on last month.
- Why it matters
- One milestone invoice made up most of the rise, and it will not repeat next month.
- What to do
- Plan next month's cash on recurring revenue only, and chase the milestone invoice by its due date.
Illustrative note. The kind of judgment every pack carries.
Every week
Bank, card and processor accounts reconciled to their statements. Questions go to you while they are fresh.
Month end
Last transactions coded, accruals and prepaid items posted, open items listed with what we need from you.
Before it is sent
A senior reviewer checks every reconciliation and reads the numbers against last month.
By business day five
The pack arrives: profit and loss, balance sheet, cash, open items and a written note.
How this works for EU businesses
Where the line sits
Bookkeeping, not statutory filing
We reconcile accounts and prepare reporting-ready figures under IFRS for SMEs or your local GAAP. A qualified local partner certifies and files statutory accounts and VAT returns in your member state.
Checked before it reaches you
A senior reviewer reads every month's reconciliations and reports before they are sent, and flags anything that will matter to your VAT partner.
Your file stays yours
Books live in your own Xero or QuickBooks Online subscription. Leave any time and the full file, with its history, goes with you, plus a recorded handover memo from your named pod if anything about your account changes.
Built for OSS and IOSS sellers
If you sell across several EU countries under the One Stop Shop or Import One Stop Shop schemes, your books track the split by country so your VAT partner can file with figures already reconciled.

Questions
Questions EU businesses ask first
Can you file our VAT return for us?
We prepare the figures your VAT return needs. Filing under OSS, IOSS or a national VAT scheme stays with your own registration or a qualified local partner. Finbryn is not a registered VAT agent in any member state.
Who reviews the numbers before we see them?
A senior reviewer on our team checks every month's reconciliation and report before it reaches you.
What if we sell into more than one EU country?
That is common under the OSS scheme, and we track sales by country so the split is already there when your VAT partner needs it.
Do you offer payroll in the EU?
Not yet. Payroll for EU staff is outside what we handle today; ask us and we will tell you plainly rather than stretch the answer.
Industries
Books set up for how your business actually earns
The chart of accounts, the reconciliations and the monthly note change with the model. Three examples:
- Ecommerce (Amazon and Shopify)Bookkeeping for online sellers on Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and their own storefronts, built around clean payout and sales tax data.Where the books usually hurt
- Marketplace payouts land as one lump sum that hides sales, fees, refunds and reserves
- Cost of goods sold gets estimated instead of tracked by SKU and inventory location
- SaaSBookkeeping and reporting for subscription software businesses tracking recurring revenue, deferred revenue and burn.Where the books usually hurt
- Revenue recognition on annual and multi-year contracts gets booked as cash instead of spread over the service period
- MRR, churn and expansion numbers get pulled from three different tools that disagree with each other
- Professional servicesBookkeeping for professional service firms such as engineering, architecture and IT consulting billing clients by project or retainer.Where the books usually hurt
- Project-based billing means revenue recognition needs to follow the work performed, not just the invoice date
- Unbilled work in progress at month end never gets estimated, so profitability numbers run behind reality
