Reviewer's note
Software is up on last month after two seats were added mid-month. Revenue includes one milestone invoice that will not repeat next month.

What a Hong Kong management report contains
A profit and loss with prior-period and budget comparison, a balance sheet with supporting schedules for the accounts that matter, and a statement of cash flows, followed by a short written narrative flagging the two or three things that actually moved the numbers that month.
Who reads it
Often a sole director running a small Hong Kong company wants a plain read of the month without opening the accounting file. A group with a Hong Kong subsidiary reporting into an overseas parent needs the same numbers reformatted against the parent's own chart of accounts and, where relevant, its own reporting currency.
Territorial profits and group reporting
Hong Kong charges Profits Tax on a territorial basis: only profits arising in or derived from Hong Kong are taxed, and profits arising abroad are not taxed even if remitted here. A management report for a group with both Hong Kong and offshore activity separates the two clearly, since it affects how the group itself reads the Hong Kong entity's contribution, separately from its tax position.
Split by entity or activity
Where your chart of accounts or class tracking supports it, reports can split revenue and cost by trading entity, branch or activity, which matters for a Hong Kong holding structure with more than one operating subsidiary.
Where it sits in the close
Management reports are built from the same month-end close that later feeds your annual audit, so the numbers in the report and the numbers your auditor sees never diverge.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: Management reports
Who normally reads our monthly report?
Usually the director or shareholder running the company day to day, then an overseas parent or investor if one is in the group structure.
Can the report separate Hong Kong income from offshore income?
Yes. Profits Tax is charged only on profits arising in or derived from Hong Kong, so a report for a group with non-Hong-Kong-sourced activity can show that split alongside the consolidated view.
Does the report match what our auditor will see?
Yes. It comes from the same closed books your annual audit is built on, so nothing in the report contradicts the audited figures later.
Can reports be reformatted for an overseas parent's chart of accounts?
Yes, provided the parent's chart of accounts and reporting currency are agreed with you in advance.
Can the report include a comparison to last year, not just last month?
Yes. A prior-year column, or a rolling trend across several months, can be added alongside the current period so a reader sees direction over time, not just one month's snapshot sitting on its own page.
Who actually reads these reports?
Usually the owner or CFO first, then whoever they answer to: a lender, an investor, a board or a franchisor.
Can reports be split by location or department?
Yes, as long as the chart of accounts or the class and location tracking in your software supports that split.
How is management reports priced?
Pricing for management reports depends on your transaction volume, the software you use, and how much cleanup is needed before ongoing work starts. Current ranges are published on the pricing page, and your exact fee is confirmed in writing before anything begins.
What software works with management reports?
Management reports runs inside QuickBooks Online or Xero, whichever you already use. If you are not yet set up in either, we can configure a file in your name so you keep ownership of it once the engagement is under way.
