Hong Kong edition
Built around your audit year, not just the month end
A weekly reconciliation cycle, so books are already clean when Profits Tax and audit season arrive.
Finbryn's cycle for Hong Kong companies: transactions are ingested from bank and card feeds, categorised against your chart of accounts, reconciled weekly rather than only at month end, checked by a senior principal, and reported by business day five with a clean profit and loss and balance sheet.
The process
The five steps
Ingest
Bank, card and payment feeds land in Xero, QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books, ready before you next check the file.
Categorise
Every transaction is coded against your chart of accounts, with anything unclear flagged as an open item instead of guessed at.
Reconcile weekly
Bank, payable and receivable accounts are matched against statements every week, not batched up for month end, so your Hong Kong-registered auditor inherits a shorter list at year end.
Review
A senior principal checks the coding, the reconciliation and anything flagged, before the month is called closed.
Report
You receive a profit and loss, balance sheet and open-items list by business day five, plus a short note on anything worth knowing before Profits Tax or audit season.
Questions
How the cycle actually runs
Why reconcile weekly instead of monthly?
Because every Hong Kong company faces a statutory audit with no small-company exemption. A ledger reconciled every week for a full financial year gives your auditor far less to reconstruct than one assembled in the weeks before BIR51 is due.
Where is the work done?
The bookkeeping and preparation work is done by our accounting team in Pakistan, under a contract with Northlane Solutions Inc. in the United States, with a senior principal reviewing every month's work before it reaches you. Your data is handled under the safeguards set out in our privacy policy and security page, and your file stays in your own QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage account.
How fast do you reply if I have a question?
First reply within one business hour on business days, whether it comes by email or through your named pod.
What happens to items you cannot categorise?
They are listed as open items in your monthly report rather than guessed at, so nothing gets buried before your auditor sees it.
What happens once our books are reconciled each month?
A senior principal reviews the file before anything is marked complete, then your profit and loss account, balance sheet and any agreed reports are delivered inside the Xero, QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books account you already hold.
Do we need to change software to work with you?
No. We work inside the platform you already run, whether that is Xero, QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books, and set up a migration only if you separately ask for one when your current setup no longer fits.
