Reviewer's note

Software is up on last month after two seats were added mid-month. Revenue includes one milestone invoice that will not repeat next month.

Illustrative. An example of the document, not a client's figures.

What you receive each month

A profit and loss with prior-period and budget comparison, a balance sheet with supporting schedules for the accounts that matter, a statement of cash flows, and two or three lines explaining what actually moved the numbers that month. Department or location splits are included wherever your chart of accounts or Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks tracking categories support them.

Built around the AU calendar

Reports line up with your July to June financial year, so year-to-date figures and budget comparisons reset on the right date rather than a calendar-year assumption that does not match your tax return. Where a business tracks GST separately, the report calls out the liability building toward the next BAS due date rather than burying it in the balance sheet.

Who actually reads it

Usually the owner, or the person they answer to: a lender, an investor, a franchisor or the board. If a bank or lender wants a specific layout, we build to that template rather than a generic one and adjust it as the relationship changes.

Delivery and ownership

The reports are reviewed by a senior reviewer before you see them. Terms are set out in your engagement letter, and you keep the underlying Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks file at every point.

Handover if anything changes

A named pod owns your reporting month to month. If the report format, the KPI set, or who receives the pack changes, a short handover memo goes with it, so the change is on record rather than something you have to remember was agreed on a call.

Questions

Frequently asked questions: Management reports

Do management reports change if we switch from Xero to MYOB?

No. The report format stays the same; only the software the underlying data comes from changes, and we work in either.

Can reports show our GST liability separately?

Yes, where you track GST as its own account, the report can call out the balance building toward your next BAS rather than leaving it inside a general liabilities line.

How do reports handle our July to June financial year?

Year-to-date figures and prior-period comparisons reset on July 1, matching the financial year your tax return uses rather than the calendar year.

How is management reporting priced?

Priced against the number of reports and the level of detail requested each month, confirmed once we understand which figures matter to your management team and how often you need them.

What software are management reports built in?

Directly from your accounting software, sometimes layered with a reporting app such as Fathom or Syft where more detailed formatting or comparisons are wanted.

Who actually reads these reports?

Usually the owner or CFO first, then whoever they answer to: a lender, an investor, a board or a franchisor.

Can reports be split by location or department?

Yes, as long as the chart of accounts or the class and location tracking in your software supports that split.

How is management reports priced?

Pricing for management reports depends on your transaction volume, the software you use, and how much cleanup is needed before ongoing work starts. Current ranges are published on the pricing page, and your exact fee is confirmed in writing before anything begins.

What software works with management reports?

Management reports runs inside QuickBooks Online or Xero, whichever you already use. If you are not yet set up in either, we can configure a file in your name so you keep ownership of it once the engagement is under way.
