Close & reporting
Board packs
A board pack built from the same monthly close as your other reports: a financial summary, a KPI page, a cash position view and a one-page narrative on risks, wins and decisions needed, delivered on a schedule that leaves time to read it before the meeting.

Reviewer's note
Software is up on last month after two seats were added mid-month. Revenue includes one milestone invoice that will not repeat next month.

What goes into the pack
A financial summary covering profit and loss, balance sheet and cash position in board format, a KPI page tracked against prior quarters and targets, a cash runway view where relevant, and a one-page narrative flagging risks, wins and decisions the board needs to make. An appendix carries the supporting detail for anything the board is likely to question.
Timed to your board calendar
The pack is built to whatever schedule you set, typically several days ahead of the meeting so there is time to read it first, and it draws on the same closed books used for your monthly management reports so nothing in the pack contradicts the file the board saw last quarter.
Matching your template
If your board or investors already use a template, whether that follows a format from an accelerator, a lender or a prior year, we build to that rather than a generic layout.
Super and cash timing
Where Payday Super, effective 1 July 2026, or the 12% compulsory super contribution rate affects the business's cash position, the pack's cash view reflects it rather than leaving the board to work out the timing themselves.
Delivery
Checked in senior review before it reaches you. Terms are set out in your engagement letter. Book a call to talk through your board schedule.
First pack
The first pack usually takes a little longer while we agree the template and the KPI page with you. After that it runs on your regular meeting schedule, drawn straight from the month's close.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: Board packs
How far ahead of the meeting is the pack ready?
The pack is built to a schedule you set, typically several days ahead of the meeting so there is time to review it first.
How far ahead of the board meeting do we get the pack?
Typically several days ahead, so there is time to read it before the meeting rather than during it.
Does the pack reflect Payday Super's effect on cash?
Yes, where compulsory super contributions moving to each payday rather than monthly affects your cash position, the pack's cash view shows it.
Who reviews the pack before it reaches the board?
You or your management team review a draft before it is finalised, so nothing reaches board members without your sign-off on the commentary and figures first.
What is not included in board pack preparation?
We do not write strategic commentary on your behalf. We prepare the figures and standard commentary on variances; the narrative for the board is yours to add or direct.
How far ahead of the board meeting is the pack ready?
The pack is built to a schedule you set, typically several days ahead of the meeting so there is time to review it first.
Can the pack match a template our board already uses?
Yes. We work from a template you provide or from the format your investors expect.
How do we get started with board packs?
Getting started with board packs begins with a short review of your current records and software access. Once that is done we confirm scope and timing in writing, and ongoing work begins on the schedule agreed with you.
What if our records for board packs are not up to date?
If your records are behind, we scope a catch-up first so board packs starts from a clean, reconciled base. That catch-up is priced and timed separately from the ongoing engagement, so you always know what each part costs.
