Board packs
A board pack for UK companies built from the same closed books as your monthly management accounts, covering financial performance, KPIs and cash runway, delivered with enough lead time to read before the meeting rather than during it, and formatted the way your board or investors already expect to see it.

Reviewer's note
Software is up on last month after two seats were added mid-month. Revenue includes one milestone invoice that will not repeat next month.
Illustrative. An example of the document, not a client's figures.
Built from the close, not bolted on afterwards
A board pack is only as reliable as the books underneath it. Because ours comes straight out of the same monthly close used for your management accounts, the numbers in the pack match the numbers a director sees the rest of the month, with no separate reconciliation exercise the week before the meeting and no last-minute scramble to explain a mismatch.
What's in the pack
- A financial summary covering profit and loss, balance sheet and cash position in board format
- A KPI page tracked against prior quarters and any targets the board has set
- Cash runway and burn-rate view for funded companies
- A one-page narrative highlighting risks, wins and decisions the board needs to make
- An appendix with supporting detail for anything the board is likely to question
On your schedule, and your template
The pack is built to a schedule you set, typically several working days ahead of the meeting so there is real time to read it first, not skim it in the lift. We work from a template you already use or from the format your investors expect, rather than asking the board to adapt to ours, and we keep that template consistent meeting to meeting.
Where the work is done
Assembled each period and reviewed by a senior principal before it reaches you, working from the Xero, QuickBooks Online or Sage file that stays yours throughout, with no separate copy of the data kept anywhere else.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: Board packs
How far ahead of the meeting is the pack ready?
The pack is built to a schedule you set, typically several working days before the meeting so there is time to review it properly first.
Who reviews the pack before it reaches us?
A senior principal reviews every pack and its narrative alongside the underlying closed books before it goes out.
Does the pack cover cash runway for funded companies?
Yes, a cash runway and burn-rate view is included where the business is externally funded and tracking towards a specific runway target.
Can the pack include a narrative commentary, not just the numbers?
Yes, a short written commentary on what moved, why, and what it means for the coming month typically accompanies the figures, since a board reading numbers with no context often asks the same follow-up questions a two-paragraph note would already have answered.
Do you attend the board meeting itself?
That is not a standard part of this service, though we can join a call beforehand to walk your finance lead through the pack, or be available for a specific question during the meeting if your board prefers direct access rather than relying on a relayed answer.
How far ahead of the board meeting is the pack ready?
The pack is built to a schedule you set, typically several days ahead of the meeting so there is time to review it first.
Can the pack match a template our board already uses?
Yes. We work from a template you provide or from the format your investors expect.
How do we get started with board packs?
Getting started with board packs begins with a short review of your current records and software access. Once that is done we confirm scope and timing in writing, and ongoing work begins on the schedule agreed with you.
What if our records for board packs are not up to date?
If your records are behind, we scope a catch-up first so board packs starts from a clean, reconciled base. That catch-up is priced and timed separately from the ongoing engagement, so you always know what each part costs.
