Close & reporting
KPI dashboards
A small set of numbers that actually run a Hong Kong business, tracked month over month in one place instead of scattered across spreadsheets and bank apps. Built from your accounting and operating systems so the metrics a director actually watches update on the same schedule as the close.

Reviewer's note
Software is up on last month after two seats were added mid-month. Revenue includes one milestone invoice that will not repeat next month.
Illustrative. An example of the document, not a client's figures.
Fewer metrics, tracked properly
Most Hong Kong companies get more out of five to eight metrics tracked consistently, such as revenue by entity, gross margin, cash on hand, or headcount cost against revenue, than twenty tracked only when someone remembers to pull them.
Built on top of the close
The dashboard pulls from the same closed books that go into your monthly management report, so a number on the dashboard and the same number in the report never disagree with each other.
Multi-entity and offshore structures
A Hong Kong holding company with an operating subsidiary elsewhere, or a group with both onshore and offshore trading, often wants the dashboard split by entity rather than shown as one blended figure, since the two can move for entirely different reasons.
Nothing new to log into
The dashboard usually lives in a spreadsheet or a reporting tool connected to Xero, QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books, so there is no separate platform to learn and nothing that gets stranded if you ever move accounting systems.
Setting the first list of metrics
The starting list is agreed with you rather than handed over as a fixed template, because a restaurant group tracking table turnover and a services firm tracking utilisation rate need entirely different metrics on the same page. Once the list is agreed, it stays consistent month to month, since a dashboard that keeps changing its own metrics is harder to read than one that shows the same handful of numbers moving over time.
Where it fits
A KPI dashboard sits alongside management reports and feeds directly into a board pack when one is needed on a schedule.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: KPI dashboards
How many KPIs should a Hong Kong SME actually track?
Most benefit more from five to eight metrics watched consistently than from a long list checked only occasionally.
Can the dashboard split by entity for a group structure?
Yes, as long as the chart of accounts or class tracking in your software can separate the entities or trading lines you want to see apart.
Do I need new software for the dashboard?
Usually not. Most dashboards live in a spreadsheet or a reporting add-on connected to Xero, QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books.
How often does the dashboard update?
On the same monthly cadence as the close it is built from, so the numbers never run ahead of the reconciled books.
Who decides which KPIs actually go on the dashboard?
You do, with our input on what is measurable from your existing books. We build the dashboard around metrics that matter to how you run the business, not a generic list pulled from a template.
Do you build the dashboard in a new tool I have to learn?
No. Most dashboards live in a spreadsheet or a reporting add-on connected to your existing accounting software, so there is nothing new to log into.
How many KPIs should we actually track?
Most businesses get more value from five to eight metrics tracked consistently than twenty tracked occasionally.
What software works with kPI dashboards?
KPI dashboards runs inside Google Sheets or Excel, whichever you already use. If you are not yet set up in either, we can configure a file in your name so you keep ownership of it once the engagement is under way.
How do we get started with kPI dashboards?
Getting started with kPI dashboards begins with a short review of your current records and software access. Once that is done we confirm scope and timing in writing, and ongoing work begins on the schedule agreed with you.
