KPI dashboards
A small set of metrics that actually run a Canadian business, revenue, margin, cash runway or an industry-specific number, tracked month over month in one dashboard pulled from QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage 50 instead of scattered across spreadsheets.

Reviewer's note
Software is up on last month after two seats were added mid-month. Revenue includes one milestone invoice that will not repeat next month.
Illustrative. An example of the document, not a client's figures.
Built around the numbers that matter to you
The KPI list is agreed with you first, whether that is gross margin, cash runway, GST/HST-adjusted revenue, order volume or a metric specific to your industry. The dashboard then pulls from your accounting and operating systems each month, with trend lines against the prior twelve months and plain-language commentary on anything that moved outside its normal range.
No new software to learn
Most dashboards live in a spreadsheet or a reporting add-on connected to QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage 50, so nothing new needs a login. That matters for a Canadian owner-operator who already juggles a CRA My Business Account login, a payroll portal and a banking portal without adding another one.
Currency and provincial context built in
Where a business operates in more than one province, the dashboard can carry a provincial split (Ontario HST at 13% against a non-participating province's separate GST) so a margin number is not distorted by mixing tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive figures across locations.
Five to eight, tracked consistently
Most Canadian businesses get more value from five to eight metrics tracked every month than twenty tracked occasionally. The dashboard starts small and only grows when a new number earns its place.
Built and kept up by a named pod
A named pod builds the first version of the dashboard against the KPI list you agree, then keeps it current every month as part of the same close cycle that produces your financials. If a definition changes, for example how you calculate gross margin after adding a new product line, the change and the reason for it are recorded in a short handover memo rather than silently altered in the file. You keep ownership of the underlying QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage 50 file at all times, and the dashboard itself lives in a format you can open without us.
When a number needs a closer look
A dashboard flags that a metric moved outside its normal range; it does not replace the conversation about why. Where a KPI swings further than expected, whoever built that month's dashboard is reachable within one business hour to walk through what is driving it, whether that is a real operating change, a one-off item, or a timing effect from GST/HST remittance or a large invoice landing early or late in the month.
Priced on the pricing page
Dashboard work is priced on the pricing page, with billing cadence and cancellation terms set out in your engagement letter. You can add a metric or drop one at any time.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: KPI dashboards
Do you build the dashboard in a new tool?
No. Most dashboards live in a spreadsheet or a reporting add-on connected to QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage 50, so there is nothing new to log into.
Can the dashboard handle multiple provinces?
Yes. Where a business operates in more than one province, we carry the provincial tax split so a margin figure is not distorted by mixing HST-participating and GST-only locations.
Can the dashboard change as the business grows?
Yes. A metric can be added or dropped between months as what actually matters to the business changes.
Who agrees the KPI list?
You do, with our input on what a business your size and sector typically tracks. The list is revisited if it stops earning its place.
What exactly is included in kPI dashboards?
KPI list agreed with you, whether revenue, margin, cash runway, churn, utilization or an industry-specific metric, and a monthly-updated dashboard pulling from your accounting and operating systems. This work runs inside Google Sheets or Excel, whichever your business already has in place, and it rolls into your regular monthly close rather than sitting off to the side as a separate, unreconciled process.
Do you build the dashboard in a new tool I have to learn?
No. Most dashboards live in a spreadsheet or a reporting add-on connected to your existing accounting software, so there is nothing new to log into.
How many KPIs should we actually track?
Most businesses get more value from five to eight metrics tracked consistently than twenty tracked occasionally.
What software works with kPI dashboards?
KPI dashboards runs inside Google Sheets or Excel, whichever you already use. If you are not yet set up in either, we can configure a file in your name so you keep ownership of it once the engagement is under way.
How do we get started with kPI dashboards?
Getting started with kPI dashboards begins with a short review of your current records and software access. Once that is done we confirm scope and timing in writing, and ongoing work begins on the schedule agreed with you.
