From bank feed to finished figures, step by step.
A fixed sequence, run every month, so your close is not left to whoever has time on the day.
Once your bank, card and payment feeds land in Xero or QuickBooks Online, our team codes each transaction, matches it to the statement, and flags anything unclear rather than guessing. A senior reviewer checks the month before it is called final, and figures reach you by business day five.
The process
Five steps, every month
Feeds land
Bank, card and payment-provider feeds arrive in your ledger between business days, ready before the working day starts.
Coding
Every line is coded to your chart of accounts; anything without clear paperwork is set aside as a query rather than assumed.
Reconciliation
Each account, including any VAT control account, is matched against its statement so the ledger agrees with what the bank shows.
Senior principal review
A more senior team member checks the coding, the reconciliation and every open query before the month is signed off internally.
Figures delivered
You receive a profit and loss account, a balance sheet and a short list of anything worth flagging, by business day five.
Questions
Questions about the close itself
Does this fit with Making Tax Digital?
Yes. Records are kept digitally in Xero or QuickBooks Online throughout the month, which is what Making Tax Digital for VAT and for Income Tax Self Assessment both require of the underlying records.
What do you need from us mid-month?
Usually nothing beyond bank and software access set up at onboarding. We only come back to you when a query needs your answer.
How quickly do you reply if something looks off?
A named contact replies directly, whether the question reaches us by email or through your named pod.
What happens to a transaction you cannot code confidently?
It goes on the query list in that month's report rather than being coded on a guess, so nothing is quietly buried.
Where is the work done?
The bookkeeping and preparation work is done by our accounting team in Pakistan, under a contract with Northlane Solutions Inc. in the United States, with a senior reviewer reviewing every month's work before it reaches you. Your data is handled under the safeguards set out in our privacy policy and security page, and your file stays in your own QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage account.
What happens in the first month, before a full routine is running?
The first month usually focuses on setting up or reviewing your chart of accounts, connecting bank feeds and clearing any backlog, so figures from month two onward are built on a clean base. We flag anything found during setup that needs your decision before it becomes routine.
