Privacy policy

The short version

Northlane Solutions Inc., trading as Finbryn, is the controller of personal data collected through this UK edition of the site, for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. What we collect and why

When you fill in a contact form, ask to book a call, or use a calculator on this site, we collect the details you type in: your name, work email, phone number, company and message. Our lawful basis for using this is either that it is necessary to take steps towards a contract with you (preparing a proposal, arranging a call) or our legitimate interest in running a bookkeeping business, balanced against your rights. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond replying to you and delivering the work you asked for.

Who else sees it

A small number of processors act on our instructions to run this site: Vercel hosts it in the United States, Supabase holds submitted form data in whichever region is configured for that service, Resend sends confirmation emails, Cloudflare handles domain resolution and a bot-filtering challenge, and Cal.com or Calendly loads a booking calendar only once you click through to book. An internal alert also reaches our team by Telegram when a form arrives, and that alert carries no personal data. Vercel Analytics counts visits without a cookie.

Sending your data to Pakistan

The bookkeeping and preparation-support work itself is carried out by our delivery team in Pakistan, working under Northlane Solutions Inc.'s contract and instructions. The UK has no adequacy decision covering Pakistan, so this counts as a restricted transfer under UK GDPR. Before any UK client's data reaches that team, we put in place the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) issued by the Information Commissioner's Office, together with a transfer risk assessment, as the safeguard the law requires.

How long we keep data

We hold enquiry and client data for as long as our relationship continues, and for a further period afterwards to meet our own accounting and legal record-keeping duties, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, correct it, erase it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or receive a copy in a portable format. Email privacy@finbryn.com with any of these, and we will respond within the timescale UK GDPR sets. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent regulator for data protection.
