Busy season tax prep support

Short answer

Busy season support gives UAE practices extra hands around the Corporate Tax and VAT filing calendar: source documents organised, trial balances tied out and draft Corporate Tax or VAT return input completed in your practice's own software, ready for your tax agent registered with the Federal Tax Authority to review and file.

The filing calendar every UAE practice feels

A Corporate Tax return is due, and any tax owed paid, within nine months of the end of the relevant tax period, so a client whose financial year closes in December faces a return due the following September. The Federal Tax Authority set 30 September 2026 as the deadline for the financial year ended 31 December 2025, and every later year end cycles through the same nine month window on its own schedule. VAT returns run on their own periodic cycle across the same client book, so the two workloads regularly stack.

What our team prepares

Work starts with the source documents a client has sent over: bank statements, sales invoices, expense receipts and the bookkeeping behind them. We tie trial balances to supporting schedules, propose adjusting entries where the books and the return diverge, and complete input in your practice's own return software so your reviewer opens a file ready for review rather than a stack of PDFs.

Where the Federal Tax Authority draws the line

This is preparation support, not filing. Corporate Tax registration itself follows timelines set out in Federal Tax Authority Decision No. 3 of 2024, and missing a registration window carries an AED 10,000 penalty, waived only if the client's first return is filed within seven months of its first tax period ending. Our team never submits anything through the Federal Tax Authority's portal; your tax agent registered with the Federal Tax Authority reviews and files every return.

Small Business Relief widening the smaller-client workload

Small Business Relief lets an eligible client with revenue of AED 3,000,000 or less, in the current and every prior tax period, elect to be treated as having no taxable income, for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2026. That relief still needs an election on the return itself, and a Qualifying Free Zone Person cannot use it, which is exactly the kind of judgement call busy season support is built to flag rather than decide.

Ramping capacity up and back down

Practices often add this support a few weeks ahead of a client's Corporate Tax filing deadline and taper it once that batch clears, sometimes keeping a smaller version running for clients on a non-standard financial year end.

Questions

Frequently asked questions: Busy season tax prep support

Who files the Corporate Tax or VAT return, you or our practice?

Your practice does, through your own registration with the Federal Tax Authority. Our team only prepares the workpapers and draft input behind it.

Can you work to a mixed book of December and non-December year ends?

Yes. Corporate Tax deadlines run nine months from each client's own tax period end, and capacity is scoped to cover the mix rather than one single date.

How early should we bring in busy season support?

Most practices add it a few weeks ahead of a client's filing deadline, though the exact ramp depends on how much prior period file history needs reviewing first.

Can support scale down again once a filing batch ends?

Yes, capacity is agreed for the filing window and scales back down afterwards rather than becoming a fixed ongoing cost you carry all year. Practices that want year round capacity typically move to a dedicated pod instead.

Does your team sign or file anything?

No. We prepare workpapers and draft input for your credentialed preparers, who review and sign every return.

Can you flex up just for filing season?

Yes. Firms typically add this capacity a few weeks before a deadline and scale it back down after.

How is busy season tax prep support priced?

Pricing for busy season tax prep support depends on your transaction volume, the software you use, and how much cleanup is needed before ongoing work starts. Current ranges are published on the pricing page, and your exact fee is confirmed in writing before anything begins.

What software works with busy season tax prep support?

Busy season tax prep support runs inside QuickBooks Online or Xero, whichever you already use. If you are not yet set up in either, we can configure a file in your name so you keep ownership of it once the engagement is under way.
