Filing-ready, prepared by people who already know your books

Tax preparation support

Short answer

Finbryn prepares the figures behind your Saudi Zakat, corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax and Fatoora e-invoicing obligations, built from books our delivery team already reconciles. A ZATCA-licensed tax agent reviews, represents you before ZATCA and files where representation is required. We do not sign as that agent ourselves, and we say so plainly.

Two regimes, one company, in most cases

A Saudi company with Saudi or GCC shareholders and one or more foreign shareholders sits under both regimes at once: Zakat at 2.5% of the Zakat base on the Saudi and GCC ownership share, and corporate income tax at 20% on the non-Saudi share of taxable income. We build the ownership-weighted split from your trial balance and reconcile each share separately, because ZATCA assesses them as two different filings, not one blended number.

VAT, monthly or quarterly

VAT sits at 15%. A business with annual taxable supplies above SAR 40 million files monthly; everyone else files quarterly, with the return due by the last day of the month after the period closes. We track your rolling twelve-month supplies so a filer does not discover the monthly threshold has been crossed only after a return is already late.

Withholding tax on payments abroad

Payments to a non-resident with no Saudi presence, royalties, management fees, technical services, rent and similar categories, carry withholding tax that a Saudi payer deducts and remits, with the monthly return due on the 10th of the following month. We prepare that workpaper as part of the same monthly close rather than as a separate year-end scramble.

Fatoora, wave by wave

ZATCA has been pulling more VAT-registered businesses into Phase 2 e-invoicing integration wave by wave, lowering the qualifying revenue threshold each round. We check where your revenue sits against the current wave and prepare your systems and workpapers for the integration deadline ZATCA assigns, rather than waiting for the notice to arrive.

What we prepare, and who signs

We build the Zakat, corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax and transfer pricing disclosure workpapers from books contracted through Northlane Solutions Inc.. A ZATCA-licensed tax agent reviews the position, represents your business before ZATCA and files or handles any objection. We are not that agent, and Zakat and tax returns are due within 120 days of your financial year end regardless of which entity signs.

Where this fits

This follows on from monthly bookkeeping, which keeps the trial balance current enough that a Zakat or VAT filing is never a rebuild from scratch. See pricing for what preparation support costs and how it works for onboarding.

Questions

Frequently asked questions: Tax preparation support

Do you file our Zakat and tax return with ZATCA yourselves?

No. We prepare the Zakat base, tax computation and supporting workpapers. A ZATCA-licensed tax agent reviews the position and represents your business before ZATCA, including any filing or objection.

We have both Saudi and foreign shareholders. Does that change anything?

Yes. Your Saudi and GCC ownership share is assessed for Zakat at 2.5% of the Zakat base, and your non-Saudi share is assessed for corporate income tax at 20%, as two separate computations built from the same books.

How often do we file VAT?

Monthly if your annual taxable supplies exceed SAR 40 million, otherwise quarterly. Either way, the return is due by the last day of the month after the period ends.

What is Fatoora and does it apply to us?

Fatoora is ZATCA's e-invoicing system. Every VAT-registered business already issues structured electronic invoices under Phase 1, and ZATCA is bringing more businesses into the connected Phase 2 integration wave by wave as the qualifying revenue threshold keeps falling.

Who can actually represent us in front of ZATCA?

Only a ZATCA-licensed tax agent may represent a taxpayer, file on their behalf or handle an objection. We prepare the figures and hand them to your licensed agent for that step.

What if our records are not up to date before a deadline?

We scope a catch-up on the trial balance first, since a Zakat, VAT or withholding tax figure built on unreconciled books tends to move again once the books are fixed. That catch-up is priced separately from ongoing preparation support.
