Books, reconciled every week

Bookkeeping

Short answer

Finbryn keeps monthly books for companies across Saudi Arabia, from Riyadh trading firms to Jeddah service businesses and Dammam industrial suppliers, inside QuickBooks Online or Xero. Every transaction is coded and reconciled against a chart of accounts split between the Zakat base and taxable income, so the trial balance feeds ZATCA returns, GOSI payroll and your Ministry of Commerce filings.

Books built for two ownership shares at once

A Saudi company with mixed Saudi/GCC and foreign ownership answers to two regimes on the same set of books. The Saudi and GCC ownership share is assessed for Zakat at 2.5% of the Zakat base, while the non-Saudi share is taxed at 20% corporate income tax, each computed and filed separately under ZATCA rules. We code transactions so the ownership split is visible from month one, not reconstructed once the 120-day filing deadline after year end is close.

VAT and Fatoora e-invoicing

The standard VAT rate is 15%. Businesses with annual taxable supplies above SAR 40 million file monthly, everyone else quarterly, with the return due by the last day of the month after the period closes. Fatoora Phase 2 keeps lowering its revenue threshold wave by wave, so we track where a growing client sits against the current wave and flag the integration deadline before ZATCA does.

GOSI, Mudad and payroll journals

Saudi employees carry a combined 21.5% GOSI contribution across the pension and unemployment insurance branches; non-Saudi employees carry only the 2% occupational hazards branch, paid entirely by the employer. Wages run through the Wage Protection Program via Mudad, and we post the payroll journal each month so the ledger matches what Mudad actually paid out, not an estimate.

Commerce filings and audit-ready books

A Commercial Registration from the Ministry of Commerce sits behind every tax, Zakat and GOSI registration, and the same Ministry expects audited annual financial statements filed through its Qawaem platform. Statutory financial statements follow IFRS, or IFRS for SMEs, as endorsed by SOCPA. We prepare the reconciled trial balance and the IFRS financial statements; an independent SOCPA-licensed auditor performs the audit itself and signs the opinion.

Start with monthly bookkeeping if your records are current, or catch-up bookkeeping if a backlog needs clearing first. A foreign parent setting up under a MISA investment licence in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam can ask about intercompany accounting once the local entity's monthly cycle is running.

Questions

Frequently asked questions: Bookkeeping

Does Finbryn file our VAT, Zakat or tax return?

We prepare the reconciled figures and supporting schedules. Filing itself is done by the taxpayer or by a ZATCA-licensed tax agent, since representation before ZATCA requires one.

Can you keep books for a company with mixed Saudi and foreign ownership?

Yes. We split the Zakat base for the Saudi and GCC share from the taxable income for the non-Saudi share, so each return rests on the same reconciled ledger.

Do you complete our annual audit?

No. We prepare an audit-ready trial balance and IFRS financial statements. An independent SOCPA-licensed auditor performs the audit and signs the opinion.

Which accounting software do you use for Saudi clients?

QuickBooks Online or Xero, whichever the company already runs. If there is no file yet, we set one up under your own subscription.

What if our company is behind on Fatoora e-invoicing integration?

We check your VAT-subject revenue against the current wave's threshold and confirm the exact integration deadline with ZATCA rather than assume an earlier wave still applies.

Do you serve companies outside Riyadh?

Yes, we work with companies across the Kingdom, including Jeddah and Dammam, wherever the Commercial Registration is held.
