A typical month in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah
Once the month closes, we work through every bank, card and payment feed connected to your QuickBooks Online, Xero or Zoho Books file. Each transaction is coded against your chart of accounts, and every account is reconciled to its statement, whether the bank sits in DIFC, ADGM, mainland Dubai or another emirate.
VAT coding as you go
For VAT-registered companies, the standard 5% rate is applied at the point of coding rather than reconstructed at quarter end. Where the mandatory registration threshold of AED 375,000 in taxable supplies over 12 months is approaching, we flag it early so registration happens before the deadline rather than after.
Corporate tax stays visible month to month
Revenue and cost are coded so the split between taxable income above AED 375,000 and any Qualifying Free Zone income is clear well before the return is due. Companies close to the AED 3,000,000 Small Business Relief threshold get a monthly note on where they stand, since crossing it changes the return.
Payroll and free zone renewals
Where staff are paid through the Wage Protection System, or a UAE national employee triggers a GPSSA contribution, the payroll journal is posted each period so the ledger matches what was actually paid. A reconciled ledger also speeds up the annual trade licence renewal, since most free zones and the Department of Economic Development ask for financial records at renewal time.
Ready for year end
Because every month is reconciled as it happens, year end starts from a clean trial balance rather than a scramble before the corporate tax filing deadline, nine months after your financial year ends. If the months before we start are not in order, catch-up bookkeeping comes first. Trading and holding companies with a UAE subsidiary of a US or UK parent can ask about intercompany accounting once the monthly cycle is running.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: Monthly bookkeeping
When will my monthly figures be ready?
We agree a close date with you at onboarding, based on when your bank feeds, invoices and receipts are complete for the month.
Do you code VAT even if we are not yet registered?
Yes, we track taxable supplies against the AED 375,000 threshold so registration happens on time rather than being noticed after the fact.
Can you keep books for both a free zone entity and a mainland trading licence?
Yes, each entity's books are kept separately, coded to the correct tax treatment, and can be consolidated for management reporting.
Who files our VAT and corporate tax return?
We prepare the figures inside your ledger. Filing is done by you or by a licensed tax agent, since representation before the Federal Tax Authority requires one.
Do I have to switch accounting software?
No. We work inside your QuickBooks Online or Xero file. If you have no file yet, we set one up in your name so you own it from day one.
What do you need from me each month?
Read-only bank feeds, receipts for card spend, and answers to the questions we log on the open-items list.
What is included in monthly bookkeeping?
Monthly bookkeeping covers transactions sorted into categories against your chart of accounts and bank, card and payment-processor accounts reconciled to statements. The exact scope is agreed and set out in writing before work starts, so you know precisely what is and is not covered before the first deliverable arrives.
How is monthly bookkeeping priced?
Pricing for monthly bookkeeping depends on your transaction volume, the software you use, and how much cleanup is needed before ongoing work starts. Current ranges are published on the pricing page, and your exact fee is confirmed in writing before anything begins.
