Monthly bookkeeping

Short answer

Monthly bookkeeping for Saudi companies from Finbryn: transactions coded in QuickBooks Online or Xero, every bank and card account reconciled, VAT and Zakat/tax coding split by ownership share, and a profit and loss, balance sheet and open-items list delivered each month, ready for ZATCA review or your annual Qawaem filing.

A typical month in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam

Once the month closes we work through every bank, card and payment feed connected to your QuickBooks Online or Xero file. Each transaction is coded against your chart of accounts, and every account is reconciled to its statement, whichever bank the company holds it with.

VAT coding as you go

The standard 15% VAT rate is applied at the point of coding rather than reconstructed at quarter end. We track taxable supplies against the SAR 40 million threshold that decides monthly versus quarterly filing, so the switch happens on time rather than after the fact.

Zakat and corporate tax stay visible month to month

Revenue and cost are coded so the Saudi and GCC ownership share, taxed at 2.5% Zakat, is visible separately from the non-Saudi share taxed at 20% corporate income tax, well before the 120-day filing window after year end closes.

Fatoora e-invoicing and payroll

Where a client's VAT-subject revenue crosses the current Fatoora Phase 2 wave, we flag the integration deadline rather than wait for ZATCA's notice. Where staff are paid through Mudad under the Wage Protection Program, the payroll journal is posted each period, split between the 21.5% GOSI contribution on Saudi employees and the 2% occupational hazards charge on non-Saudi employees.

Ready for year end

Because every month is reconciled as it happens, year end starts from a clean trial balance rather than a scramble before the 120-day Zakat and tax filing deadline. If the months before we start are not in order, catch-up bookkeeping comes first. A foreign-owned subsidiary set up under a MISA licence can ask about intercompany accounting once the monthly cycle is running.

Questions

Frequently asked questions: Monthly bookkeeping

When will my monthly figures be ready?

We agree a close date at onboarding, based on when your bank feeds and invoices are complete for the month.

Do you code VAT even before we are registered?

Yes, we track taxable supplies against the SAR 40 million filing-frequency threshold so the right frequency is set from the start.

Can you keep books for both the Saudi/GCC share and the foreign share of the same company?

Yes, each share is coded separately in the same ledger so the Zakat and corporate income tax figures are ready at year end.

Who files our VAT, Zakat or tax return?

We prepare the figures inside your ledger. Filing is done by you or by a ZATCA-licensed tax agent, since representation before ZATCA requires one.

Do I have to switch accounting software?

No. We work inside your QuickBooks Online or Xero file. If you have no file yet, we set one up in your name so you own it from day one.

What do you need from me each month?

Read-only bank feeds, receipts for card spend, and answers to the questions we log on the open-items list.

What is included in monthly bookkeeping?

Monthly bookkeeping covers transactions sorted into categories against your chart of accounts and bank, card and payment-processor accounts reconciled to statements. The exact scope is agreed and set out in writing before work starts, so you know precisely what is and is not covered before the first deliverable arrives.

How is monthly bookkeeping priced?

Pricing for monthly bookkeeping depends on your transaction volume, the software you use, and how much cleanup is needed before ongoing work starts. Current ranges are published on the pricing page, and your exact fee is confirmed in writing before anything begins.
