Gusto integration
Gusto calculates payroll, pays employees and contractors, and files the related federal and state forms, but it does not reconcile itself to your general ledger. Finbryn connects Gusto to QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite so wages, employer taxes, benefits and contractor payments post correctly every pay period without manual re-entry.

The process
- 1.
Review the current setup
We compare your Gusto configuration against your chart of accounts to find where payroll is landing as one unexplained number.
- 2.
Build the journal entry mapping
Wages, employer taxes, and each benefit deduction get mapped to its own account in QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite.

Test against one pay cycle
The mapping runs against a full live pay period before it becomes the standing process, so errors surface once, not quarterly.
- 4.
Reconcile liability accounts
Each pay period, employer tax and benefit liabilities get checked against what Gusto actually withheld and remitted.
- 5.
Review new hires and rate changes
Any change that affects a pay run gets checked before that run goes out, not after.

Track contractors separately
1099 contractor payments are tracked apart from employee payroll all year, against the current reporting threshold.

Pricing
Gusto integration is scoped inside your monthly bookkeeping tier, based on employee count, number of states, and benefits complexity, rather than a flat standalone fee. Direct payroll support, where we work inside Gusto itself, is a separate add-on priced per employee per month. Current ranges are on the pricing page, confirmed in writing before work starts.
