Full-cycle accounting, not just bookkeeping
Accounting services
Finbryn runs the general ledger, controller review and financial statement preparation for US businesses that have outgrown basic bookkeeping. A named team maintains the chart of accounts, closes the books on schedule, and prepares statements for lenders, investors or your own board, reviewed by a senior reviewer.

Reviewer's note
Software is up on last month after two seats were added mid-month. Revenue includes one milestone invoice that will not repeat next month.

When bookkeeping is not enough
Monthly bookkeeping tells you what happened. Accounting services answer a harder question: is the number right, is it explainable, and is it in a form a lender, an investor or your own board can act on. Once a business runs more than one bank account, more than one entity, or answers to someone outside the founder's own head, that layer stops being optional.
What sits underneath the number
Every deliverable starts with the general ledger itself. We maintain a chart of accounts built for how your business actually operates, post journal entries with the right supporting documentation, and substantiate every balance sheet account with a schedule or reconciliation, not a number that just happens to tie out this month.
Controller-level review, without a full-time hire
An outsourced controller reviews the close before it reaches you, owns the chart of accounts, and enforces the approval limits and segregation of duties that keep one person from moving money without a second set of eyes.
Statements built for the reader, not just the file
Financial statement preparation produces a full profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement formatted for whoever is actually going to read it: a lender, an investor, your board. This is non-attest work. When a lender or investor specifically requires a compilation, review or audit report, an independent accounting firm issues it; we hand that firm a clean, reconciled set of books to work from.
Built for more than one entity
Multi-entity accounting keeps a matching chart of accounts and consolidated reporting across related entities, whether that is a holding company and its subsidiaries or a franchise group running each location separately. Cost and project accounting does the same at the job level for businesses that need profitability tracked by contract, not just by company.
Reviewed before it reaches you
Every deliverable under accounting services is reviewed by a senior reviewer before it reaches you, on top of the controller-level review built into the service itself.
Where this connects
If your books are not yet reconciled month to month, start with bookkeeping first. Once the close is clean, month-end close and reporting covers the management reports, KPI dashboards and technical topics like revenue recognition that build on the ledger accounting services maintains. The pricing page shows how each layer is scoped and priced.
All services
Accounting services: every service
- Full-service outsourced accountingA full accounting function run outside your walls: the general ledger, month-end close, financial statements and the internal controls that keep them accurate, handled by a named team so you are not hiring an in-house department to get the same result.
- General ledger maintenanceOngoing upkeep of the ledger itself: journal entries reviewed and posted correctly, account balances substantiated with supporting schedules, and the ledger kept in a state your lender or a new accountant could pick up without a translation.
- Outsourced controller servicesA controller function without the full-time hire: someone who reviews the close, owns the chart of accounts, enforces internal controls and signs off on the numbers before they reach you or your board.
- Financial statement preparationNon-attest preparation of a full set of financial statements, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement and notes, built for lenders, investors or internal use. An independent firm handles any compilation, review or audit report.
- Fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedulesCapitalization policy set once and applied consistently: what counts as a fixed asset, how it is depreciated on the books, and how that book treatment reconciles against the depreciation your tax preparer elects on the return.
- Inventory and cost of goods sold accountingAccounting-level oversight of inventory valuation and cost of goods sold: the costing method applied consistently period to period, cost variances investigated, and gross margin reported by product line instead of estimated at the bank balance.
- Cost and project accountingJob costing carried at the general ledger level: labor, materials and overhead tracked to a specific job, project or contract, so profitability is reported by job rather than blended into one company-wide margin figure.
- Grant and fund accountingRestricted and unrestricted funds tracked separately so a grant, donation or program fund is spent and reported on exactly the terms it was given under, with the reporting a grantor or board actually asks for.
- Accounting system setup, policies and proceduresThe written policies and procedures manual that makes an accounting function repeatable: who approves what, how a close gets done, how records are kept, so the answer does not live only in one person's head.
- Multi-entity accountingAccounting run across two or more related entities with a consistent chart of accounts, intercompany balances kept in agreement, and a consolidated view produced alongside each entity's own standalone financial statements.
- Year-end close and CPA handoff packThe books closed and reconciled for the full year, with a complete handoff pack, trial balance, supporting schedules and prior-year comparisons, handed to your outside CPA or tax preparer in the format they actually need.
- Accounting for startupsThe accounting stack built from formation: chart of accounts, entity structure coordination, and books kept investor-ready from the first dollar raised instead of rebuilt under pressure before a raise or an audit.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: Accounting services
Is Finbryn an accounting firm?
No. Finbryn is not a licensed accounting firm. Any output that requires a CPA's signature, such as a compilation, review or audit report, or a filed tax return, is issued or signed by a credentialed signer, an enrolled agent, or an independent, licensed accounting firm we coordinate with.
Who reviews the numbers before they reach us?
Every deliverable under accounting services is reviewed by a senior reviewer before it reaches you, on top of the controller-level review built into the service itself.
Do accounting services include our tax return?
No. Accounting services keep the ledger, close and financial statements accurate. Tax return preparation is a separate service, prepared by our team and filed by a credentialed signer.
Can you produce statements our bank or investor will accept?
We prepare non-attest financial statements accepted by many lenders and early-stage investors. When a lender or investor specifically requires a compilation, review or audit report, an independent accounting firm issues it from the books we prepare.
What if we only need one piece of this, not the whole stack?
Most engagements start narrow, often just controller review or just financial statement preparation, and expand as the business needs more. Scope is set out in writing before anything begins.
How does this connect to bookkeeping and month-end close and reporting?
Bookkeeping keeps transactions categorized and reconciled. Accounting services sit above it: ledger integrity, controller review and financial statements. Month-end close and reporting covers the management reporting output built from that same ledger.
