Who Wave fits
Wave suits sole proprietors and very small businesses that want low-cost software and someone else keeping the books current, without the overhead of a more full-featured platform they do not yet need.
Monthly work
We import and categorize bank transactions each month, reconcile every connected account against its statement, and export a monthly profit and loss and balance sheet in a format your tax preparer can use directly.
What Wave does well, and where it stops
Wave handles straightforward income and expense tracking cleanly at a low cost. It is not built for inventory accounting, multi-currency work, or the kind of class and location tracking a multi-property or multi-department business needs.
Telling you when to move on
We will say plainly when your business has outgrown Wave, typically once inventory, payroll integration, or reporting needs grow past what the platform supports well, and help you move to QuickBooks Online or Xero at that point.
Keeping it simple until then
For as long as Wave fits, we keep the process just as disciplined as we would on any other platform: transactions categorized promptly, accounts reconciled monthly, and reports you can hand to a lender or a tax preparer without a follow-up call.
Getting started
Onboarding starts with connecting your bank feeds and reviewing what is already in Wave, so the first month's reconciliation has a clean starting point rather than inheriting whatever was left uncategorized before.
How the engagement is structured
Terms, including billing, are set out in your engagement letter. You keep ownership of the Wave login throughout, we work inside it rather than moving your data anywhere else, and pricing is published on the pricing page rather than quoted case by case once you describe your transaction volume.
Questions
Frequently asked questions: Wave bookkeeping
Does Wave bookkeeping cost less than QuickBooks Online or Xero bookkeeping?
The software itself is typically lower cost, and our bookkeeping fee reflects your transaction volume and complexity rather than which platform you run; see the pricing page for how that is scoped.
Does Wave support more than one bank account?
Yes, and every connected account is reconciled to its statement each month the same way we would on any other platform.
Can you help if I have been using Wave without reconciling for a while?
Yes. That is a catch-up engagement: we reconcile the backlog first, then move you onto a regular monthly schedule.
What does wave bookkeeping actually include, month to month?
Wave bookkeeping covers a Wave account set up or tidied under your own login, along with bank transactions imported and sorted into categories each month. The work runs inside Wave, the file stays under your own subscription, and a senior principal reviews the output before it reaches you each period.
What access do you need to start wave bookkeeping?
View or edit access to Wave is enough to begin; nothing about your existing subscription or login changes on our side. Any additional access needed for a specific deliverable, such as a bank portal or receipt inbox, is agreed with you first, and the scope is set out in your engagement letter.
Will Wave still work once my business grows?
For a while. Once you need payroll integration, multi-currency work or deeper reporting, we will tell you plainly when it is time to move to QuickBooks Online or Xero.
Is Wave a good fit for a business with inventory?
Not usually beyond the simplest cases. We will flag it early if your business needs proper inventory accounting that Wave cannot support well.
What is included in wave bookkeeping?
Wave bookkeeping covers a Wave account set up or tidied under your own login and bank transactions imported and sorted into categories each month. The exact scope is agreed and set out in writing before work starts, so you know precisely what is and is not covered before the first deliverable arrives.
How is wave bookkeeping priced?
Pricing for wave bookkeeping depends on your transaction volume, the software you use, and how much cleanup is needed before ongoing work starts. Current ranges are published on the pricing page, and your exact fee is confirmed in writing before anything begins.
